How Often Should You Replace Your Tires?

If the tread depth is less than 2/32 of an inch, it’s time to replace your tires.
• Age of the Tires: Even if your tires appear to have plenty of tread left, the rubber can deteriorate over time. If your tires are six to ten years old, you might want to think about replacing them, even if they are not showing visible signs of damage.
• Cracked or Damaged Sidewalls: Visible cracks, bulges, or cuts in the sidewalls are signs that the tires are weakening, which could lead to a blowout. Act quickly to address this issue before you find yourself in a dangerous situation.
• Frequent Flat Tires: If you’re getting flat or deflated tires more often, it could be a sign that your tires have worn out and are no longer holding air properly. While flat tire repair can provide temporary solutions, if the problem is recurring it might be time for replacement - especially if you’re noticing large punctures or multiple issues in the same area.
• Signs of Imbalance: If your vehicle is out of alignment, your tires might wear out unevenly or more quickly than expected. Excessive vibration or a loud, uneven ride could indicate that your tires are out of balance or that there are internal defects to worry about. You might also notice uneven tread wear (such as more wear on one side of the tire, which can be a sign of an alignment or suspension issue.
